Stream Timer

Show how long you’ve been live. This stopwatch overlay starts when the browser source loads and counts up for the whole stream.

In OBS: Sources → + → Browser, paste the URL, and set width 500 and height 160. The background is transparent.

How to use the Stream Timer

  1. Add an optional label like Live for and style the text.
  2. Copy the URL and add it to OBS as a Browser source.
  3. Untick Shutdown source when not visible in the source settings so the timer doesn’t reset when you switch scenes.

Frequently asked questions

How do I restart the stream timer?

Right-click the source in OBS and choose Refresh. The timer restarts from zero.

Why does my timer reset when I change scenes?

OBS reloads browser sources that are set to shut down when hidden. Untick Shutdown source when not visible and Refresh browser when scene becomes active.

Need a countdown instead?

Use the OBS countdown timer for starting-soon timers or the subathon timer for timers you add time to.
