Animated version

A browser source that draws this overlay live, with moving effects.

In OBS add a Browser source, paste the URL, set it to 1920 × 1080 and place it above your game. Uploaded logos aren’t included; add yours as an Image source.

Matching widgets

Open these with your font and colours already set.

This link reopens the maker with your exact design. Bookmark it or send it to a friend.

Your design is also remembered in this browser. Uploaded logos aren’t part of the link.

How to use the Twitch Overlay Maker

    1. Pick a theme, then fine-tune colours, font and frame style. Upload your logo if you have one.
    2. Choose where your webcam, chat box and info bar go, or drag them on the preview.
    3. Download the overlay PNG, or the full pack with starting soon, BRB and ending scenes.
    4. In OBS, add the PNG as an Image source above your game capture, or use the animated version URL as a Browser source.

    What’s in the overlay pack

    • overlay.png: the transparent in-game overlay with your webcam frame, chat box and info bar.
    • starting-soon.png: a matching starting soon screen with a box for our countdown timer.
    • be-right-back.png and stream-ending.png: matching BRB and ending scenes.

Static PNG or animated browser source?

The PNG is the lightest option and works in every streaming app. The animated version is a Browser source that draws the same design live. Mix a frame effect (flowing gradient, rainbow, comet trail, neon pulse, breathing or glitch) with a panel effect (shimmer, aurora, sparkles or scanlines), and the LIVE dot blinks. It runs at 30 fps to keep CPU use low. Both use the same design, so you can switch any time.

    Setting it up in OBS

Create a scene called “Live”. Add your game capture, then your webcam (Video Capture Device), then the overlay as an Image source at the top of the list. Resize the webcam so it fills the frame; for a round camera, add an Image Mask/Blend filter (see our webcam guide). Finally, add the chat overlay inside the chat box: the maker shows the exact size and position for it, and the Matching widgets buttons open the chat overlay and countdown in your colours. Make one scene per screen in the pack, and switch between them with hotkeys.

Want more on screen? Add a goal bar, a subathon timer or a matching standalone webcam frame.

    Frequently asked questions

What size is a Twitch overlay?

1920 × 1080 px, the same as your OBS canvas. This maker always exports at 1920 × 1080. See the Twitch overlay size guide.

    Is the overlay transparent?

Yes. Everything except the frames, chat box and info bar is transparent, so your game shows through.

How do I put chat in the chat box?

Add our free Twitch chat overlay as a Browser source and size it to sit inside the box.

How do I fill in the follower and sub labels?

The labels are left blank on purpose. Add StreamElements or Streamlabs label widgets (latest follower, latest sub) as Browser sources over the empty space. You can rename every label, for example to “New follower” or “!discord”.

Can I save my overlay and edit it later?

Yes. Copy the design link under Save or share: it reopens the maker with your exact design. The maker also remembers your last design in this browser.

Does it work with Streamlabs, Meld and TikTok LIVE Studio?

Yes. It’s a normal PNG, so any streaming app that supports image sources can use it.

Can I make an animated overlay?

Yes. Pick a frame effect (flowing gradient, rainbow, comet trail, neon pulse, breathing or glitch) and a panel effect (shimmer, aurora, sparkles or scanlines) under Animated version and add the URL as a 1920 × 1080 Browser source. For fully designed animated packs, TwitchGFX sells animated stream overlay packs.
